MasterChef is back this festive season and there’s a Golden Whisk up for grabs for the best cook. Hosts and judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace are ready to see who this year’s shining star is, and who’s lacking Christmas sparkle when it comes to their kitchen talents. The Celebrity MasterChef Christmas Cook-Off 2023 cast includes favorites who already proved themselves in previous seasons.
One contestant found reality TV fame on one of the UK’s biggest shows, another is famous for appearing in soaps recognized up and down the country. Celebrity MasterChef Christmas Cook Off 2023 cast
Four famous faces are returning to the MasterChef kitchen this Christmas. The cast list includes:
All four contestants have appeared on the BBC show before. Duncan James was cast for series 16 in 2021. Melanie Blatt, Faye Winter, and Richard Blackwood appeared in series 17 in 2022.
Melanie Blatt
Singing superstar and former member of hit girl band All Saints Melanie Blatt is ready to battle it out for the Golden Whisk on Celebrity MasterChef’s Christmas special.
Melanie is 48 years old and hails from London.
She rose to fame in the nineties alongside her All Saints band members including Nicole and Natalie Appleton, Shaznay Lewis, and the late Simone Rainford. The group sold over 12 million records worldwide.
When Melanie appeared on Celebrity MasterChef last year, she was a finalist finishing behind Richard Blackwood and series 17 winner Lisa Snowdon.
Richard Blackwood
Soap star, TV presenter, and recording artist Richard Blackwood is also getting competitive this festive season.
BBC fans may recognize Richard from Eastenders. He played the role of Vincent Hubbard for around three years from 2015 to 2018.
Richard is 51 and also hails from London. He’s battling for top spot once again on the cooking show after coming in second place to Lisa Snowdon last year.
Faye Winter
Faye Winter rose to fame on ITV’s Love Island back in the summer of 2021.
She had an on-screen romance with fellow contestant Teddy Soares, and the two made it to the reality show’s final. However, they placed third after Liam Reardon and Millie Court, and Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran.
Faye went viral for one of her moments on the ITV show. She “lashed out” at her partner in an expletive-filled rant.
A year on from Love Island, Faye was cast as a contestant on Celebrity MasterChef last year.
Now, the 28-year-old Devonian is back to prove her kitchen know-how in the festive special.
Duncan James
All Rise for another singing superstar in the cast list as Duncan James from Blue is officially in the house.
The 45-year-old found fame in the year 2000 when he joined Simon Webbe, Lee Ryan, and Antony Costa in Blue.
The boyband is still going today, although they did take a hiatus in the early 2000s.
The Celebrity MasterChef star is likely hoping the winning trophy won’t Fly By this year after he took part in the show back in series 16. Paralympian Kadeena Cox was crowned the champion of the 2021 season.
